Flowers
We finally got around to planting some flowers around here.
Landon LOVED digging in the dirt and I loved making the memories with him.
As you can see, he's pretty proud of his little plant.

Makeover: Bedroom Edition
Landon's room got a new look today. Buh-bye baby/toddler stuff, Hello big boy bed!
After a year and a half of sleeping in our bed, tonight we make the change to him sleeping in his own room. Pray for us. Please.
I'm a tad bit sad. I enjoy the snuggles with him immensely. Especially the precious morning snuggles. I'm hoping to still get those on the mornings he wakes up early. Yes, I realize he will still come to our bed at times. I will get my snuggles in then too.
I have to admit, it will be nice to NOT have tiny toddler feet in my ribs all night. Seriously.
He got a twin size Captains Bed, which is awesome because his room is small. The drawers fit neatly under the frame so there is no need for a dresser.
We went with a space/planet/rocket ship theme, which he chose on his own. He likes the final product and so do we.
Now, let's see if he will actually sleep in there all night!

Those Special People Who Really Love Your Kid
You know the people I'm referring to right? We all have them in our lives. The people who love your kid even though they don't have to. Those who think your kid is pretty darn cool and tell them that every time they see them.
I love my kid. A lot. I think he's pretty much the coolest thing Scott and I have ever created. I love watching the way Scott interacts and shows his love for our son. That's special.
You know what else is super awesome? Watching our friends and family show their love for Landon and seeing how much he loves them in return.
I wish I could post photos of every single person who regularly shows their love for our Boy Wonder. However, if I did that, this post would never get finished!
We are very fortunate to be surrounded by so much love and kindness. We don't take it for granted and are grateful every day for all of the lovely people we get to call family and friends.

Healthy Eyes and Teeth!
Landon has had a busy day of doctor appointments. We began at the eye doctor. We went on the recommendation from his GI specialist. Honestly, it seemed to us that he was seeing just fine. He points things out, both near and far, and is super coordinated.
They started by attempting to get pictures of his eyes. He was a bit timid at first. He actually tightly squeezed his eyes shut, which is what he does a lot of times when he is unsure about a situation. He and I walked away and had a little chat about the importance of letting the doctor see how healthy his eyes were. I also promised him lunch at Chipotle if he would please do what they asked of him. Nothing wrong with a little bit of bribery, right?! We went back to try again and he was a complete ROCK STAR! He even let them put drops in to dilate his eyes in order to get the proper prescription. Proud Mommy moment!
I was very surprised to find out that he has astigmatism in BOTH eyes! I'm blaming his Father, who has crazy bad vision. Actually, we both wear glasses so this probably shouldn't have been quite so shocking. We will be picking out glasses this week.
My 3 year old. Wearing glasses. *sigh*
After leaving the eye doc, we headed straight over to see the dentist. He was a little Champ there too! He opened his mouth big and wide. He even let them polish and floss his teeth! He left there with a very good report and instructions to come back in 6 months. All that brushing and preparing him really paid off!

Outside
After being cooped up for too many days with illness, Boy Wonder was able to get outside and play yesterday. It was much needed. For all of us.
Soaking up the sunshine. |
Waiting patiently for someone to throw him a ball! |
He was so excited to have his cousin Logan come to visit! By the end of their play time, they were both schweaty! |

Character Shoes.
You know, before I became I Mom, I really believed I would never purchase shoes with characters or that light up. I always thought they were dorky, cheap, cheesy and just not cool.
I made it 3 years and 9 days. Today, as we were searching for shoes for Landon (all of a sudden NONE of his fit!) he spotted Thomas and Cars shoes. He was excited! Me? Not so much. Until I saw the awe and excitement on his face. Everything changed and in a flash I could not wait to put those dorky, uncool shoes on his feet.
My kid is sportin' sneaks with Lightning McQueen AND they light up when he walks/runs. He is happy. Believe it or not, these things are actually very well made. Perfect for play shoes.
Tell me, what kinds of things did you say you would never let your kids have and have since changed your mind?

Twitter #gettinwiththetimes
I finally gave in and got a Twitter account.
I have no idea what I'm doing over there.
Any tips?
Do you Twitter?
I want to hear what you do and think of it!
Oh, and you can follow me if you'd like.
